Ok ok, I know me finishing is not very interesting, but the information I learned from the book would be. Do you know, the current keyboard we're using now, was designed (however) for people to type slower. The QWERTY keyboard was created in the early 1870s by Christopher Sholes.
That's because, the original keyboard was too easy for typers, such that the speed in which they typed was so fast, it often cost typebars to clash and jam. Thus, Chirstopher Sholes came up with this QWERTY keyboard, to neutralise speed of type writing. But oh well, looks like it did work initially, but people get use to things, and look at us! We're speed typing all the time.
Veronika Decides to Die was a meaningful discussion of psychological terms, or rather, madness, insanity and mentality illness. That's why the QWERTY keyboard was mentioned. If someone were to change the keyboard back to ABCDE form, everyone would say he's crazy. Yet, so what is crazy?
Madness, insanity, and craziness were, actually, minority. Another great example Paulo Coelho mentioned was the neck tie men wear to work, and every NCHS student wear to Tuesday assembly. Whoever was the first one to design the tie, must be (haha!) mad! Because, like the character Dr Igor mentioned in the book, the only good thing about wearing a tie, is the sensation of removing it after he got home. And that the patients in his mental hospital calls it the color piece of cloth around the neck.
Sadly speaking, however uncomfortable the tie makes people feel, if you're the only one who decided to not wear a necktie (in an office where everyone does), you're the one who's mad! Simply because, you're the minority. Understand? Read the book to find out more!
Anyway, I was supposed to be at SPSU camp right now. SPSU as in Singapore Polytechnic Student Union (some sort of a CCA). Thing is, HX googled the reviews of the camp, and let's just say it didn't turn out that well. But oh well...

28th & 29th March
Today:
Woah. Woke up at 730am this morning, and got myself ready to pray pray. LOL. Meaning, to go Toa Payoh to bai ah gong, lao gong and lao ma. The crowd at Toa Payoh was, as always, racous! Had to offer joss sticks 3 times, and then off we go (with more food!) The weather is hell hot and the sun was shining mercilessly at the fellow filial descendants! The cousins, as always again, gathered around to talk/chat/gossip/laugh and ended up settling ourselves with another stayover at around June. heee! Oh yes, you know right before we leave right, must burn all the joss paper mah. And the fire in the 'funnel' was extremely fierce! NO ONE can bare to stand within 1m from it, those adults would quickly throw one stack of joss paper and rush back. Got one lady don't dare go too near, so my dad helped her with it. haha!
So after we left Toa Payoh, it was burning joss paper and offering joss sticks again, this time for Gong Gong, whose gu hui was situated at Kovan. This temple was a lot smaller, and there were less people, thus quieter and yay! peace! So I helped to burn the joss paper this time, and the 'funnel' was so small I can put it in my pocket. LOL. There were so little people, we had to start the fire ourselves, and the whole process (say, 10 min) I was standing 1m from it, turning the papers. Then towards the end I simply stand right in front of the miniature fire and throw in the paper. heeeee funny!
Yesterday:
Did you support the Earth Hour yesterday? Well, I sort of, did so. I mean I didn't on the lights at home, nor any of the electrical appliances. Because I was out shopping at Vivo City. LOL! Naughty Vivo City didn't support this campaign, but seriously speaking, imagine what would happen if it's total pitch dark. But anyway to all friends who did, be proud of yourself! and For those who didn't, slap yourselves 123456789 times.

Oh that's not the point, yesterday at Vivo, I bought myself - Finally oh my god FINALLY - a bag :) Adidas E44270. I was so determined to buy a bag home, that I almost bought another black Adidas bag in Tangs, which jaw-dropping-ly cost $129! So went over to Adidas, and when my sister pointed out that bag to me, I was like' huh~', like sian leh. But then after walking around the humongous shop, I decided to try this bag. And to my pleasant surprise, I kinda like it. Well, I only like it and not love it, so won't be carefully protecting it or wad, it's already lying on the floor beside me RIGHT NOW. (because any new bags I got previously, always get the bed/chair.)
But I'm happy I got a new bag, woohoo!
Today:
OH YES OH YES. Today I came up with this very interesting idea. I'm not trying to be lame or funny, but really! My dad asked me if I told Ah Gong (who passed on when I was 2) the address of SP, so he can come visit me whenever he's free.
Then I said, "No need one la, now they got computer and everything, can go google out one la!"
And my dad agreed by saying, "Orh ok lor. Then you got add them in facebook or not?"
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
Then I actually realised, wouldn't it be fun if everything (including praying etc) is converted into IT-style?! Like in facebook, there could be a new group, which we would call Ancestors Club. And all the children grandchildren and on, would join the club, and every now and then, instead of Poke/Send Gifts, we click "Offer Joss Sticks" or "Burn Joss Papers"!! It's all about sincerity isn't it? Heeeeeeeeeeee!
-THE END-
Today was, haha, funny.
Well, it started with me meeting my pri school fren, Danny, for lunch at CP. I haven't met him, for hmmmm 4 years mann! So we talked quite a lot blah blah blah. As he would be leaving for his school pei hwa (where he worked as a relief teacher), I decided I would visit CLDDS and watch their rehearsal.
Here comes the funny part. With the intention of returning an english book I just borrowed, I went up to the library. So I saw Vincent Lee with his frens, which I slowly realised was Yixian and Ruiqi! And the 3 of them actually didn't meet up, but it was rq and yx who bumped into vin.
so 4 of us stood in the middle of nowhere and began talking and laughing. Surprisingly, the 4 of us bumped into ziling! wahahahhahaha!! Funny enough?
SO since I was going back NCHS and the cert plus SGC is ready for collection, the 5 of decided to walk back to NCHS together. heeeeee! And then right before we enter GO, there's this sign-on-the-board thing to support Earth Hour. So vincent helped us write down 4Fantabulous'2008!!
Well anyway, so then we sat at the staff room there and chatted and they did some homework haha! so then Laosun, YanLin, LeeMin and QianHui came toooooo! So there's 2NY, 2A, 2TP, 2M and 1SP (Pearl where were you!) Afterwhich at around 430 I went down to CLDDS and stayed there and watched their performance.
Then went home with cf :)

24th March: SGC
23rd March: Departs without a Bag <-------lameshit!

The theatre was noisy, like really la! not as in the talk her laugh here that kind of noisy, but a bit of drinking here and a bit of clearing nostrils there. Well, the film was quite good, both funny and sad, the views were written in speakingmyviews.blogspot.com
Well anyway, I intended to get a bag (no matter how and wad) at J8, but nah, I really couldn't bring myself to buy one of those bags, which I had considered b4. They were not ugly la, but definitely not worth what they are! It's something like I'll buy and get a new one in June! haha! So nvm, patience patience!
And followed by dinner with Dad as well at the nearby large coffeeshop. I ate the chicken chop this time, and seriously, the best best chicken chop in a coffeeshop ever! The meat was tender and juicy the sauce was yummylicious the fries were fantabulous! but it cost $5.90 ( I'd say it's reasonable, though!)
And home, without a bag or wad, and other than that, a presentiment of tmr's coming. herh!
-THE END-
19th March
OH RIGHT.
on 19th March, visited NCHS early in the morning at 645 am. Herh, it had been a long while since I woke up at 530am! And the first person I saw was (surprisingly) Mdm Yeo, she had the I-just-woke-up look. Well, I bet she did! So we talked a while, and I went up to I&E room. After which was travelling down to CJC for rehearsal for the juniors' SYF. haha!
Hmm CJC's auditorium was really really cool laaaaaaaaaa! And then Vin Liting and I were talking about which JC we've visited before. Hmm, come to think of it, I've visited ACJC (debate competition), AC Independent School (SYF'05), HCI twice (story telling competition), and CJC (SYF'07). heeeee! And, I went to all their Auditorium and the biggest (really, pants-dropping LARGE) is probably Hwa Chong's but I guessed the best and most equipped is CJC's, for all the lightings and great acoustics.
So after the entire thing, we collected our O's Cert and went home. Then we settled with a dinner which includes Evelyn Mich Shermin Me Laosun HuiXian! So went down to AMK hub for the yummy Ichiban :D Oh my, the food was really GOOD, now that I look at the picture, I still think the curry rice is delicious even when I'm filled! Really leh, I don't know why pple prefer Sakae than Ichiban. Sakae is sooooo... Froggy! Well, we talked a lot and once HX finished her bubble tea we went home!
P.S./ I've finished The Reader, and written my views on the blog :)
And today, there's Chamber of Secrets!!
-THE END-
18th March
Mainly yesterday, I was both angry and disappointed at certain things. Today went back to NCHS for two things. One, meeting of Friends of NCHS (no named as Nan Chiau Youth Mentors) and two, visit ELDDS.
Hmm, well, the meeting was all right, somehow quite funny. haha. Sounds promising too. Chagrin number one: Like so little 4F pple went (in fact, 6) I don't know if I should be angry or not, but for most they can't make it ( and I know all of you didn't want this either) One sure thing is, I was disappointed at the turn out, and basically I received "Not Free" replies until yesterday, when Lishan said "yep going". *Note I really am not blaming anyone here, just that I can't help feeling disappointed.
And visiting ELDDS didn't make things any better, really. And that's when chagrin number two came in. BUT I won't make any comments here, since tmr's another rehearsal and things might turn for the better. But hmmmmm... ... Pray!
Well anyway, let's just say today back at NCHS wasn't the usual happy go happy go home mood. Yet not to the extend I got emo the whole day or wad la. haha.'
ON THE BRIGHTER SIDE, I've finally installed my Cambridge Advanced Learner's Dictionary Disc in my laptop, stop searching Pearl Hx, it didn't come with the computer. :D
I had bought it nearing the O's period (most likely before/after prelim) but never really install the software because very busy + very lazy. So now that I did, let me tell you wad are there.
Firstly, it's basically like dictionary.com but it gives you a wayyyy more advance/clearer meaning of the word. And two pronunciation of the same word, of which one is UK version, while the other US version. And you'd be surprised a lot of the words we pronounced are US version, mind you, we're studying UK English. heeee. And there's this QUICKword and SUPERwrite, which means, when you're reading like Hx's blog and there's this very chim word. Simply roll over it or click on it, and u can choose to find another similiar word in the Thesaurus (SUPERwrite), or the meaning of it in the Dictionary (QUICKword)! Well, of course you must open the window and the thing will work la!
A Smile A Day, Keeps The Pressure Away :D
What's the most important thing to do the moment you sit up from bed, in the morning? Give yourself a smile.
-THE END-

Anyway, can you imagine? It was like yesterday that we had the usual topic like 'after olevels I want to..." , or rather "after the last paper want go badminton?", or "I so scared leh my result, later cannot...", or ... ...
It's kinda lame that we once thought those were the unknowables. It was like discussing what does heaven looked like, or if there really is an afterlife. And we just blah blah blah our way through until (not the result day) but NOW. It's just so fast! I've always been wondering whether the Earth had started to revolve at a fasted speed as the years pass by, just that, no scientists found out. Or maybe they did, but announcing it would be such a hassle that literally everything had to change.
Heee. Ok, I've been debating with time lately, and I know you think it's lame and cliche. Yet, there's still these deep, sorrowful cries at the back of my head telling me and reminding me of the memories, be they 10 min ago, or 10 months ago. Really, in time to come, would NCHS be the best alma mater I ever had? Maybe, but why not yes? I used to say NCPS is the best, but honestly?
All right, let's put this on a lighter tone. We're now moving on already. So just treat the brain like a memory card, and the memories like a softcopy document, at times, open them and reminisce over it, when time is up, cross them out and focus on the now.
That's because, if one is not guilty because one cannot be guilty of forgetting the memories, then one is guilty for not having made the past a memorable one.
-THE END-

Omg, time didn't fly, it simply zoomed passed babey. When xiaohan saw us, she was astonished to see me taller than her. I mean, come on, what was the height difference when I was sec1?
Well anyway, this dinner date was really impromptu mannn. The thought just struck me suddenly when Sebast asked me to go ELDDS today. Well since I wasn't able to, I thought of lunching with him, but hmm why not ask along XiaoHan, afterall, we had been the hyper triple in 2005/2006!
So we decided Pastamania in Hg Mall at 6. We had so much to talk about, and catch up with. Oh my, it's been a long time since I talked about performances... I missed being involved laaaaaaaaaa! And Sebast was the usual responsible and very busy self, while Xiao Han the laughing heartily and easy to talk to friend...
NC Superstar, SYF'07 CLDDS (the most regrettable performance ever), CSC skits, Fallen Leaf, the secret diaries we once wanted to share (but eventually didn't) and definitely, the voluntary work at Student Care Service.
Honestly, this grp of frens (do I even call it a grp?) is hmmm one of the best and closest fren I ever had. All the secrets and pains we all shared, we had so much to talk about, so much to say, so much to gossip, and how so easily we once understood each other. BUT OH WELL, things didn't turn out the happily-ever-after way since erm sec 3? Face it, we once were them: the best of frens or the inseparable group. we all know it! But no one to blame, in fact, we might never have met up today, if we really did fell out or something. At least we didn't end up in the worse situation la! At least we can still eat together and laugh together, or at least we can think about the past together, or at least ask each other about our live occasionally, or at least... ...
Well, I'm still happy about today's dinner :D
BUT OH DEAR, how I miss those innocent carefree life. I mean really! I was once so stupid (not anymore ok!) and so childish (not anymore ok!) I can't believe I was once so troubled over her or annoyed over that. But... wad had time taken away from me? Or rather, what had time given me?
Memories. For both questions.
-THE END-
heeee. Today I upgraded myself by buying a laptop from SP together with Pearl. Both of us bought the same thing. So yea. Well anyway, the whole process was quite exciting but kinda scary. And the IT guys were very helpful :) It's kinda sad I had to spend $1645.66 on a piece of metal. What's more, today was my first time using NETS and I got quite nervous when the person asked me to key in my password. So I keyed my password 123456 and it worked!! OOPS, did I just tell you my password? (haha -.-)
Next up, was lift upgrading for all flats in my housing estate. In areas that are nowhere near a car park, the crane had to park at the nearest nearest car park, and swing the something OVER the building so cooool, unless it drops!
The crane doing the swinging thing over my flat.
The crane was incredibly massive. And when the day is over, they had to shorten the thing, and oh well, the whole process is way too difficult to describe. But, mommy and bian bian stayed to watch the crane decreasing in length which took about 15min!
Well that's all. Hmmm though the new lift may be a lot convenient. Thing is, you no longer get to see this or that neighbour from the opposite side of the flat or wad. YA I can still use the old lift, but come on!
OH YES. Did I mention? That day (tuesday; enrolment day) I dreamt of this coffee shop, where I saw all my seniors! And in fact, most of them were eating the best char siew rice. And so I was there, and first I saw Irene with a grp of unknown frens, and she invited me to sit with her! So yea, I left my bag there and went to the long queue. At the very front of the queue, was Keqin trying to balance more than 6 plates of char siew, and so I helped her with it. Then on our way back to her seat, I said hi to lotsa seniors! And then, HuiXian Charmiane and Pearl came, telling me to quickly go to the enrolment centre because it was closing. That was when the handphone alarm rang, and I really did get ready for travelling to SP. HAHA!!
stupid.
-THE END-
Oh no, 2 more hours to 00:00(12pm) !! I could no longer hear my heartbeat as soon as I looked at the clock. Well nevermind, I always had a solution. Oh dear, but I still had to interview this indian boy, who looked very much like youngest Salim in slumdog millionaire! All right, calm down, after the interview, I would quickly write my lines that Mr Tien gave me today, and read the notes on my way to school; easy peasy.
Yes, the interview was ok (and I had no idea why we had it during midnight and also why it was really sunny!). When the interview ended, we shook hands, and I checked the clock again. I can really faint right now; it's 1 am!! Oh my god, never mind, plan ahead plan ahead! I would just quickly finish up Mr Tien's lines, and somehow squeeze in Mdm Yeo's Essay, and oh well, I just had to cheat during Mr Tee's test. I mean, come on, everyone does that, even the cheating part, right melissa? Oh yes, what about the chemistry notes to revise?!?!?!!?
And then I woke up.
What the hell LAAA, I can't believe I was woken by this stupid dream/nightmare. Erm, well it's a nightmare, but I most likely had it during 10-1030 am, so was it morningmare? Wadeva. I can't believe Mr Tien still haunt me when I'm not under him anymore! Wah really salute Mr Tien mannn, his notes were only the weapons, he himself was the killer. Well anyway, the entire dream was basically very chemistry and Mr Tien; mdm yeo and mr tee were just the supporting roles.
Anyway, when I woke up I was soooooooooo relieved mannn. Aiya, I would just forget about these. And yay, tmr going SP again to buy my PC.
-THE END-
visited SP today with my dad, and also pearl hx char.
Summary: today was an extremely humid + hot + sunny + burning day.
Anyway, the whole enrolment process was quite neat and systematic, but since they made the quick-go-next kinda impression, I got a little panicky when taking out our papers and documents. and wad's more, I had tonnes of enquiries, like the giro scholarship cpf miscellaneous laptops ETC so my dad acc me there :)
Well anyway, ytd I got a little pissed off for losing my passport/ic photos, but then I found them eventually. And today, die die must take another photo there, because it's some digital thing so yea. So that they can issue us the SP student card straight away. haha! but anyway, looked awful in the pict!
Then when the entire enrolment is OVER, we were happily planning to go PC show BUT we were trapped! Well, not really trapped la. But we HAD to follow this route in order to exit and reach the PC corner. the whole route is somewhat like the CCA day in nchs, so pple will promote their CCA and clubs. And before the actual orientation even start, there's lots of camps to let u mix around with pple from other school (as in business, engineering, cass etc.) they were like cajoling you to go lor.
and one guy said, "if u all interested right, u all better fill in your names now, because we're reaching our quota of the day already."
and pearl replied something like, "then I tmr come then write my name can?"
HAHAHAHA. so we ended up signing up for a student union one, which is like jc's house exco (I think)or something wadeva. $12. hmmm, becoz business school one full alr, so they had to put pearl on the waiting list :(
AND YES. the whole campus literally didn't know wad's my school's name: Communications, Arts and Social Sciences (CASS). So when they asked, me hx char would go "we're from CASS" and they would like errrrrrrr orh yea. haha.
Nah, I'm not blaming anyone or wad. haha. well anyway, I'm kinda excited that's school starting!! I'm not really more nervous or more excited it's really 50-50. Because one moment I'd yay new class new subject new frens and the next moment is, hope everything goes fine please please please.
Actually, a lot of my seniors (and almost all regretted) didn't go for that kind of camp, and I felt I had acted on impulse.Well, no worries, I didn't regret, but am really scared but very excitied about it tooooooo! ARRRR, I wish I had Dumbledore's pensieve to sort out my thoughts.
-THE END-
This morning had been something.
I woke up at eight, ate some pound cake, getting ready for jogging. And when I was at the track, there's a class of Hougang Sec students ready to do their 2.4 as well, how awkward is that! I've never seen them running there before, why can't they choose another morning?
Well anyway, it wasn't so bad so it didn't matter. came back and had a bath, and ate bread with mayonnaise egg. And then lazily walked to J and Jas for a hair cut. The moment I opened the door, I saw Alvin and we stared straight into each other for like... hmmm 3seconds and that's it, no hi no bye wadeva.
Well anyway, it wasn't so bad so it didn't matter. came back and had a bath (again! I literally copy and paste) And the rest of the afternoon, hmmm, wad did I do? Errgh, can't recall, it must have been nothing.
What a lovely day it had been :)
I actually had 2 breakfasts and 2 bathes in the morning!
-THE END-
A New Blog!
YAY. I've just officially opened my 2nd blog on popular demand, ya right. But wadeva the reason is, this blog had already existed during August 2008 :) Not that it has been kept a secret, but since Decemebr 2008, it was hidden among the other 54 links on the left hand side of the screen, simply named 'yikai'. I didn't have it known openly for several reasons, but it was once in chinese. Not anymore now, though!

Get Captured away by this blog, by clicking on the link 'My Blog' at the left hand side of the screen among the 54 links (again...) The latest post is regarding films: White Palms and The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas! :)
-THE END-
In fact, though 台湾偶像剧 may be exaggerating, annoying and stupid, let's not forget it's also actually hilarious (not in the witty way of course!), and the lines and stories are really creative. Though the characters must always love each other deeply, at the least the idols can really, somehow somewhat, do a lot more better channel eight-ers. And, the screenwriters really put a lot of efforts into thinking the most creative and inspiring words to use, while in Singapore, screenwriters only know 3 words: 我爱你. Yawwnnnn...
And the storyline found in channel 8's drama series?Cliché, and really lame. Seriously, the latest 未来不是梦 had this scene of Tay Pin Hui and Jessica Liu accidentally kissing each other, which is confirm plus chop the lousiest thing a human can ever witness on TV!
No doubt Singapura also had one or two 大制作 in a year, and we'll take the latest, 小娘惹, for example. Yep it's big, it's good, it's made up of a huge cast, and has been given all the attention. BIASED. I mean in HongKong for eg, they also have 大制作but the other common series are also good, but the big ones are awesome. Whereas here in Singapore, the common series ranges from fair to really shitty. Well, occasionally, Matrix Vision does a really good job in filming common series, like for eg, 一房半厅一水缸, though it's not a big thing, the story is still creative, and very entertaining.
And so all awards should go to the biggest series of the year lor. Fuck you for letting 李茵珠 get nominated for the chor chor role in 小娘惹, instead for the 自动嫂role!!! I can pull anyone out from the crowd and 9.5 out of 10 would agree she acts better in 一房半厅一水缸. All she did in 小娘惹 is act like she's dying and say "这 Rempah Udang 有我姐妹的味道". And when asked whether the large amounts of nominations is because of better publicity in HongKong, you thick-skinned-ly said in other awards like Oscar also have very good films like Slumdog Millionaire, DAMN YOU. Don’t you ever dare compare Slumdog Millionaire with小娘惹!!
Actually, I still have a lot to say about Star Awards, but not here la, maybe next day, sure it would be a vry long post, so yea...
And recently, Channel 8 fell in love with making 长寿剧. The reason’s obvious isn’t it? Because there would be no need to come up with new concepts etc. Hmm, the first few are really fine/ok, but the latest, newest 心华朵朵开 is really, really draggy, boring, uninteresting and very not enthralling! You have no idea HOW HAPPY I was when it finally ended; it’s like being top scorer of the nation!
I have no idea why I got so angry with channel 8 so suddenly. I mean, I have always been disgusted by certain things, but today I yue write yue pissed off. Omg, this is getting kind of embarrassing, I'm blushing already. Anyway, we can't help it can we? It's the Media Industry, so nothing's real.
P.S/ I can’t wait for 一切完美2 to show on 4th Mar!! The thing I’m disappointed is, what? 陈之财 is in the show? Oh no, I don’t like him!
-THE END-
YAY. I'm back in Singapore safe and sound, and so are my things. Anyway, I visited Batu Pahat yesterday! I never had problem pronouncing the name of this place, until I went there, and I kept saying Bukit Batok or Bukit Panjang DON'T ASK WHY.
Whatever it is, don't you just love the spacious, big and large Malaysia? I mean, when I was heading back to Singapore, I was kinda sad because I have to squeeze back into cramp Singapura again (and buy very expensive things). Still, I love Singapore more than ever. I mean, honestly! But I can't probably mention what I don't like about Msia right here right? (especially the Toilet Experience the police left with me the other time!)
Back to happy thoughts, so my father drove for 2 hrs from JB to Batu Pahat. So cool, I just love these kind of long car rides, with all the sceneries and blah. And when we alight to shop at Batu Pahat Shopping Mall, you can't resist the sunlight! And the view, no high rise buildings and all :) The Sun is so much like the beach's; bright and yellow, strong and warm! But the shops inside? boring~ And so many shops are not rented out, and the third floor is basically left empty.
But wadeva, then we travelled down to The Summit, where my dad had to attend a wedding dinner at a restaurant just opposite the road. So the 3 of us ate at KFC. And walked and shopped around lazily.
And the summary of the day is I bough 0 shoes, 0 bags, and 3 shirts :)
And even Bian Bian got something! Bet Bian Bian's happy, smiling so cheerfully :)
