OHRIGHT! The 81st Academy Award Ceremony marks it's end with a perfect full-stop, as the top 4 biggest awards were given to whom I supported! :)

Best Actress:
Meryl Streep, Doubt
Angelina Jolie, Changeling
Kate Winslet, The Reader
Anne Hathaway, Rachel Getting Married
Melissa Leo, Frozen River
*
Yipeeeeeee! I'm very happy she won, and she jolly well deserved it. She was nominated for 6 times in Oscar (including this), of which also includes 4 Best Actress, yet she only got her hands on the Golden thing, this year. It wasn't exactly surprising la, but like Kate Winslet said to Melissa, Angelina and Anne, "We should all be very surprised we are in this category with Meryl Streep here too!" Oh yes, an actress praised Anne Hathaway for her commendable acting skills (with little experiences), and that all young actress should take her as role models! I agree, though.

Best Actor:
Richard Jenkins, The Visitor
Sean Penn, Milk
Frank Langella, Frost/Nixon
Brad Pitt, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
Mickey Rourke, The Wrestler
*
Okay, I really expected Mickey Rourke the rocker to have the honour. But nope! Among these 5, my favourite was Sean Penn, who won the award, as a gay politician in the film. :) Did I forget to mention? That day when I went to catch Valkyrie, I took 2 lucky draw paper. If I were to guess the winner of the top 4 awards correctly, I might just get one year supply of free tickets from Cathay!! But too bad, as I said, Mickey Rourke lost it. Damn you, but hey, Sean Pennnnnnnn:):)

In fact, in that 2 pieces of lucky draw slips, I predicted Slumdog Millionaire to win Best Directing and Best Picture, while Mickey Rourke for Best Actor. And the difference between the 2 slips was Kate Winslet / Meryl Streep for Best Actress. But not so bad right, at least I got 3 out of 4 right!

And Best Picture Slumdog Millionaire.
*
Despite The Curious... won 3 tiny awards (Makeup, Art Direction and Visual Effects)earlier during the ceremony, they lost out all the remaining big prizes. But don't be sad, there's always next year! Besides Best Picture and Best Directing, Slumdog Millionaire also received the (Best) Adapted Screenplay, Cinematography (yay I saw that coming too!!), Original Scores, Original Song, Sound Mixing, Film Editing. I got tired just by writing out all these, imagine they had to go up and down the stage (haha!).

Oh, it was kinda sad when Heath Ledger won the Best Supporting Actor, he couldn't receive the award himself. His sister said they had talked about "coming right here on this stage, on this day" during the filming, yet he left too early.
