yay.
I had spent the whole morning (like at ard 5 or 6) in a half sleep-half awoke state. I hated this mannnn. I can really rmb the heart thumping fast, it was exactly like my first performance in school. crazy. But this time I was too lazy to even check the time, I just know it was dawn. I didn't even bother to check the hp, because you know, was just lazy.
then at 8:10, I jsut suddenly wake up again and check the phone and got 3 msgs. one from my pri sch mate, then followed by mer's, and the MOE msg. I was so relieved that I didn't even bother replying the msgs.
at 1030+ I finally woke up! rise and shine, yay. replied all msgs at once and easily tricked hx saying, "no, I'm going NP's mass comm". but she srsly didn't finish reading the entire msg, because below says, "heeee. as if. sp here we go!" ok, now I'll have to get ready for long bus rides to school which I totally hate and dread. but I shudn't get train concession, because to take train, I must take bus to the station. and double concession is really too expensive!
talk about this again. I can see you smiling slyly right now, JCians.

All of us changed our bedsheets! The king bed is now khaki in color, while me and sis shared the same combination. we have dark chocolate color as the bedsheets, and patterned khaki quilt cover. As soon as the beds are made, naughty Bian Bian slipped to my sis' comfy bed and pretended to sleep. No no, Bian Bian, we can tell you're pretending, because your eyes are open and you're still smiling! (so much like mdm yeo's son, tsk tsk tsk)

my dad is always the first person to get ready to set off! so he got me to take a picture of him beside his drink stall!
and not forgetting a family photo together :)
first stop was ah ma's hse!
last stop, xiao yi's hse! very long time never gamble with this family alr. the way these 2 families play is really different. thou, both sides are fun.
getting ready for home. Ethan, my nephew, sat right in the middle of everyone and put on his shoes. so funnnnnnyyyyyy.
then zee gu took away one of his shoes!
初二
again, right before we set off, a family photo!

in our flat's lift.
on the way to Jurong.
mahjong cupcakes!
majong session. yay yay.
and ltr, we visited dua gou's house. big and nice but this yr, we didn't go to the sky garden for pictures :(
but anyway, Jeanah arrived and we had a hell lot of time with her! she's a 2 yr old who barely fear strangers, and only allows guys to carry her. and her favourite is hi-fi-ing to everyone!
over at Mr Lin's house, she was carried there too! (because we'd be returning to dua gou's house after that) she was the attention of the day mannnnnn. that's not so bad, *wink! she saw the slide outside and kept playing on it. she simply loved it!
as we went back to dua gou's house, almost all the cousins skipped the gambling. because we were simply absorbed in watching IP MAN. haha.
next stop was to dua gu's hse. which ended us up in zee gu's house. too bad we ate at dua gu's house alr, so we skipped zee gu the chef's meal. finally, home sweet home.

you know. the usual packing here and there and pple getting hot tempered over stupid things. and it's no longer like at the end of the day, I get the delicious treat of steamboat. damn. but yay! it's new year. and during the countdown. my family did something really stupid, we gather in a circle and jumped on the spot, and kept repeating 'happy new year!'
初一
wore black. ooooooooh. went to ah ma house, then mama house, then lao kim's house, then laogu's house, then zee beh's house and my favourite xiao yi's house! I like xiao yi's house because one thing: got yummy steamboat! and the hosue is really big (and has air con) so very comfortable. and a lot of kids and babies I can play with in the toy room :)
初二
wore blue. and got very blue in the morning, really! visited gu gu's house and then dua gou's house and then to mr lin's house and back to dua gou's hosue, and then to dua gu's hosue and then to zee gu's house. lol! played a lot with jeanah this year, because she really likes guys. she won't let females carry her one lor. that's why this is the first time I carried a 2yr old. she's really cute you now, never even cry. and is a kid who will automatically coem to you to play with you and you don't have to attract her attention.
初三
watched Love Matters yesterday with my parents. I never really liked Jack neo's film, and I'd generously say THIS is the best Jack Neo film ever. and at night, jian an visited our house and had a really funny reaction upon receving 2 hongbaos: one for new year, the other of going overseas.

watched bride wars today with my big clique. I think bride wars, on the overall, was kind of a waste of money. but not to the extend it makes my heart aches laaaaaa. the whole story is funny but kind of no point, you know. and PEARL, I finally concluded that I DISLIKE kate hudson. *Note, I didn't say "hate hudson" !

after ages of not hearing from him, I finally saw kaiyan online on msn. his status message was the same as when i’d last chatted to him on christmas day - “Home! Psalm 23″. thinking that he was finally back from his hospitalization at sgh, I msged him, asking him where he’d been all this while. when I next returned to my computer, the status message had been updated: “kaiyan’s wake is from 19th jan to 22 jan”.

I wished I could tell you I found this from an extremely well-written novel, but I couldn't. I saw this when I visited Gwenda, my cousin's, blog. I hope she doesn't mind that I have copied the whole chunk out from her blog without her permission. Oh what can I say! Haiiiiiiiii.

A Choice to Make; A Route to Take

A Choice to Make; A Route to Take
Hmm, as many have known, I've put Applied Drama and Psychology, Singapore Polytechnic, S43 as the No.1 choice.
Sure, there must be a reason.
Right from the end of the big fat O's, I came to realise, how come I had never in my life really gave myself a chance to even think about entering poly. So now, after I had a whole month to think, I finally made my choice.
Sure, I have my reasons.
So why the *ucking hell?!
Hmm, let's see, as I'd be embarking a brand new chapter of my life, it's a chance for me to change!
I've been a really timid boy, and I want to take this chance to gain more confidence, and be independent. I'm like the baby at home, and seriously, I don't care about the wadsoeva that's happening in my house, and always relying on my parents/sister. but darling, they aren't always there and the lovely road planned out for me will finally meet a dead end. I'd then find a way out, independently, and maturely. Because one day, I'm sure, I'd walk the road, alone.
JC very much emphasise on studying, but come on, we are all out to learn, not memorise. stop denying it JCians, I can see it all over your face! No doubt you all have leadership training/CCAs, but I seriously think poly includes more hands-on projects and practical things, which would help me adapt to the society faster, earlier, and easier. It's harder to get into uni I know, but so what if I go JC and die in uni? Well, at least that's what I think, you may not, but hey, this is my blog. No offence *smiles
I have a keen interest in performing, specifically in drama. " so why don't you consider theatre studies and drama in VJC? " oh please, this god damn questioning really struck me from 12thJan to 15th mannnnnn. But then, the poly course actually uses drama skills to develop them into other useful skills, like in education/outreach (as they say~). whereas in VJC, the whole idea is really theatre, so yep, I thought the poly course would be more useful.
Most importantly, during that hell-of-a week, I've made a choice, and fallen into a dilemma, and made a choice and fall back all over again. there are lots of reason to which why I fell back in there again, most of the times, it's from external sources. On Thursday, I locked myself in the room for 30 min. The time has come for me to decide, rather than escape. Make a choice. Eventually, I came out of the room a happy person, heading towards SP. Note the word, happy! Because, every time I was stuck in a two-way fork road, I happened to decide on the SP way. Look like this time, I really 跟着感觉走!
Mind you, it's not a rash decision you know. I've made research and asked advices. I surfed the University web pages, poly web pages, JC web pages. I made calls to sp's lecturer to und more about the course I'm interested in and also phoned and emailed VJC's teacher in charge of theatre studies and drama. I estranged myself from the jubilant atmosphere during the wedding dinner, to ask my uncle and cousin, a uni lecturer and poly lecturer, for advices. I had to bare the embarrassment of calling the Mrs Helen Mok, my future teacher, to know more about what's going on. Btw, you've been a great help, thanks! and also bare the embarrassment to call VJ thrice and hear this from the clerk, "eh you called just now again is it? Wah, keep trying ar."
ya ya I know, it's nothing blah blah blah. You try la.
Whew. Finally typed all these! I know it had been a very boring post, but nah, this is not for you to read, I just want to look back at this in the future. (:
Oh yes, I have to mention this! I'm really glad that I have friends in the same poly as me and that is PEARLIE and HXOXO. stupid names. but anyway, hx would even be in the same school as me! and, to all my JC friends - mer, mich, eve, yj, sher, shan, ting, jb, sebast, vincent, evelyn, regina, eileen, and all 4Fantabulousers- I hereby wish you all the best for your upcoming challenge and (boring) JC life! just kidding, but srsly, good luck, and I'm sure you all would overcome this hurdle like all the others in your life. Just keep that blithe optimism in you, and you're on your road to success! and note, poly life may seem fun-filled (sometimes), but don't forget we are still friends, and would be working hard together, just in different ways, and for different goals. All the best, to all of us.
hard work unleash your talent.

And 12th Jan Reveals

And 12th Jan Reveals
My heart was racing and my palms were sweating, and despite how noisy the people around were, there seemed to be an amplified moment of silence. Took the result slip and looked at the first grade of the piece of paper. Screwed my head up and looked around for a lady in blue top, but nope, my English teacher was no where in sight. Tore the envelope/letter like a barbarian and stared at the L1R5. Relieved.
hmm I had like spent the entire day feeling worried and wasted all my energy on feeling jittery. 4 years of anticipation is over, after just one 5 seconds glance on a slip of paper. damn it.
Anyway, 12th Jan reveals the hard truth. Mixed, as I didn't whether to feel happy or sian, but don't worry, generally happy :) I got a L1R5 of 8 and R4 of 6. The greatest surprise of the day was the languages. HCL and EL like met on the street and decided to swop their grades with each other. Turn out that I got an amazing/ miraculous A2 for EL but a fat disappointing C5 for HCL. Frankly speaking, I never expected a C in my cert and turn out that the subject that got it was HCL. I'd confidently tell other people my languages would probably be both B. Sigh. I'd have been devastated had there not be EL. Though Mdm Xuan kept saying HCL paper you know you know, she still can't comfort me enough, because no one would give a damn to wadeva you're explaining or how many B3s I've gotten in the past. Darling, it's C5 now, face the fact.
But ON THE BRIGHT SIDE, I got a good score for L1R5 and maintained both ones for maths. Hated myself for simply giving up on Geog Paper 1 since it was too hard, and not giving myself enough time for SBQ in both papers. If you look back at the achieves, I did say " I didn't do well for both papers' SBQ section... ... A1 is unlikely. Just hope Guan Yin Ma can bless me with an A2. " Oh well, I did get an A2, can't be too greedy la, must be satisfied. Hated that 'B' beside Geography but I had really expected that as well. So, it's ok. BUT hurray for the four A1s! which are: Emaths, Amaths, Comb. Sc and Chinese.
Credits (your favourite part!): Thank you thank you, firstly, Mdm Yeo, who like had been such a helpful and hardworking teacher, who never failed to answer my weirdest doubts. Also Guo Laoshi who helped me all these 4 years, be it in CCA aspect or academically. Also Pearl who had been an amazing French that helped me a lot in English and also being a funny partner in the enrichment programme (and Meiling as well!!) Also Laosun for making me laugh during low-highs in lessons like Chem and brightens each boring lesson. Also my Mom, who had been a lovely listener to my complaints from school. Also my dad, for really respecting my choices, and not forgetting fetching me to school every extra lesson. Also my sister, who kept giving me confidence in wadeva I do, be it academically or CCA or performances etc. Also ALL other teachers like Mr Ho who really moved me with your sincerity and patience. Also the panel of judges who decided to give me this award. I, thank you.

The Past Few Days

The Past Few Days
So what had been happening lately, since 2009 started?!
Well well, I actually painted every single doors at home. 4 room doors, 2 bathroom doors, 1 main door. Tell you what, the amount of time taken for 2 person to paint the main door is equal to the amount of time for 4 person to paint one whole room. Ok wadeva.
on 3rd of Jan, went back to school for CCA day. tried to psycho a lot of students to join cldds or eldds. and when any sec 1 girls came near to cldds booth, my line of the day is : “想成为下一个小娘惹吗?那请参加中文学会。”and I'd hand her the flyers. haha lame shit!
and right, Caifeng, me and Evelyn went talked to this 3 girls who were sitting at a table at the koi pond. We told them a lot about performing arts cca, like for half an hour. and they were rather outspoken but not arrogant kind. like they are not shy but definitely not attitude, one of the girls even know how to ask questions. next, we started fishing for their names. the first girl is called rachel, hmm, and we told her Rachel is the vice of eldds. then the next girl is called ziling, hmm, and we told her ziling is the vice of 4F'08. then the last girl is called yufang, haha!, and we told her yufang is the vice of councillors! heeee! this bunch of girls ar, got future one la. anyway, what makes me mad is that, after the let's say half an hour talk, I saw them writing down some things on a piece paper: all names of sports CCAs. so I asked, you all want to join sports ar? and they are like "ya". there goes my precious half an hour.
on 5th Jan, I went back to school with laosun and hx, to return hy textbooks. and then slack. kinda stupid but if you want more information please go to melissa's blog.
on 6th Jan, went back to school again to see the eldds audition. hmm, the usual turn out was like 5-7 people so we can actually let everyone enter. and last year was the record as we had a total of 28 sec1s! we were hellllllll happy mannnnnnn. and this year, we didn't expect much as we didn't perform during the sec1 registration. and 11 came, so we were quite happy alr, I was even thinking like 5 like that. but anyway, quite fun you know, did park bench and everything. then at the end of the day, very tired and went home, lor.
on 7th Jan, was typing right here. and about to write...'the end'.

2008: Films and Actors
5 Favourite Films
1. 早熟 2young

2. Les Choristes, The Chorus.

A story about a teacher, who went to his particular school specialised for 'problematic' boys, and formed a choir, despite the Principal's disapproval. I rmb one of my teachers showed us this film in class somewhere between P6 or sec 1. I watched it the 2nd time this year, and it still remained as enchanting, awesome and let's say melodious as before. The choir was brilliant, especially when Jean-Batiste Maunier sang the solo. Never in my entire life had I heard anyone sing and act so well! Oh yes, this movie was also one of the nominees in 2004 Oscar Awards for best foreign film.
3. The Leap Years
A story about a young Singaporean girl who met her dream man on 29th Feb, but fate only allow them to meet every 29th Feb over 12 years. I watched this film in cinema and was absolutely moved by them. And Wong Li Lin had done an awesome job in expressing the sense of lost, in the female character, Li-Ann.

4. 保持通话 Connected

A story about a lady who tried to save herself and her family out there, even when she was kidnapped: she tried valiantly to make phone calls to the outside world with a broken phone, and until finally, someone picked up the call. This, is the most exciting thriller I've ever ever watched! One can really feel the anger/exasperation and fear in the characters and story. It was actually adapted from the Hollywood film, Cellular, which was seriously far worse than the Asian Film. And, this film had gotten 2 awards in the most recent golden horse award.
5. 海角7号 Cape No. 7
A story about the irrevocable love between 2 couples, whereby in both cases, one of them is a Japanese, while the other, a Taiwanese, and such, the difference in nationality made it hard for the 2 couples to come together. A heart-warming film it was, and the story got a bit complicated at first, but towards the end, every thing was well explained. Besides, the songs they used were really nice. Also, they have won 2 awards in the most recent golden horse award!
舟舟 Zhou Zhou
Btw, I wanted to share this film, 舟舟, Zhou Zhou, with everyone. It;s a true story, and the story revolves around this boy suffering from down syndrome, yet he has a talent which little has. He is probably the only band conductor in the world, who doesn't know how to read music scores. He acted in the movie itself, and I thought it was more like a movie at the back, rather than a story. I wouldn't say it was very nice, but definitely worth a watch to understand this tale, and the moral behind it.

舟舟 Zhou Zhou

5 Favourite Actors
1. 庄米雪 Michelle Chong, The Noose
Damn, I couldn't find a photo of Adriana Wow or Barbarella. But anyway, I thought Michelle was the best comedian I've ever watched in years, but too bad she didn't get the best comedian award in the recent asian tv award. I'm sure everyone agrees with me that her hilarious accent, exaggerating make-ups, and sexy disposition in The Noose, was really wowish. Her act in Sayang Sayang was really funny too. The way she acted dumb, sotong and boyish was really natural.

2. 林湘萍 Yvonne Lim, 一切完美 (Perfect Cut)

Oh well, Yvonne Lim only acted in one episode, and that was obviously my favourite episode of the whole series. She's like the only actress in mediacorp who can act like an insane, or a two-faced bitch. In this series, she could really express her indignant as a social reject really well. Initially, I thought she would only look good for the first time I watched and that the 2nd time would be boring. But nope! I was wrong. While I watched the Chong Bo of 一切完美 on ChU, I still thought the episode was touching and as heart-aching as the first time.
3. 刘烨 Liu Ye, 保持通话 (Connected)
He acted really well as an evil man, and in case you don't know who the hell he is, he was the one who acted as the Crown Prince in the Curse of the Golden Flower. But anyway, his acting was really commendable and his eyes really speak like a murderous person. Everyone must really watch this film!

4. 李茵珠 Li Yin Zhu, 一房半厅一水缸 (Just In Singapore)
Hell, I doubt I can ever forget Zi Dong Sao. Anyway, her expressions and lines in the show was really hilarious. She can jolly well not speak and her face can still make me roll on the floor laughing. Especially the episode on Wonder Bra, wah damn funny! She could really act like a typical Kiasu, stingy, selfish Singaporean mannnnn. Li Yin Zhu speaks the heart of all aunties in Singapore, really.

5. Jean-Baptiste Maunier, Les Choristes (The Chorus)

This young actor can really act and sing well. Perhaps because of his mysterious blue eyes, which make them seemed like they can speak as much as he can act. Look at this picture! So inspiring. Anyway, he can really express his love, his fear, his anger, his arrogance really well in the show, even without much expressions or actions.
Hurray, I've FINALLY finished my summary of the year's entertainments I had. Yipeeee!

2008: Books and TV Series
I've decided to properly conclude the entertainments I had in the Year 2008, which includes, TV series, Books etc.
5 Favourite TV Series
1. 一房半厅一水缸, Just In Singapore

2. 稀游记2, Find Me a Singaporean 2

3. The Noose

4. Desperate Housewives 4

5. 一切完美 Perfect Cut
5 Favourite Books
1. The Notebook
A story about a pair of lovers, who never failed to remember each other, no matter what odds they faced. Both the movie and especially the book, had affected me a hell lot, in the bad sense in fact. But anyway, the story and words the author used was fluent and realistic. I even finished it within like, let's say 3 days?! The fastest reading speed I ever had mannnnnnn.

2. The Kite Runner
A story about a man, who seek atonement for his own mistakes, returns to his own country, which also led him to shocking facts he never knew. Damn, I haven't watch the movie, one thing which I promised myself I would do in 2008. But anyway, the book was great, the story itself was good and the twists it contains every now and then came truly as a shock each time I read them.

3. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

A story of Harry Potter in his fourth year in Hogwarts, where he finally faced Voldy while in the Triwizard Tournament. PS/ notice what this book cover is missing! Wadeva, the book is the best in all 7 books because each round of the tournament can seriously make me have cold feet and really felt nervous for Harry Potter, even though I had already know the ending. It's like watching the Tournament myself!
4. Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets

A story about Harry Potter in his second year in Hogwarts, where he uncovers the secret that he knows Parseltongue, and the secret Hogwarts was unsure whether it exist for years. A really full-of-suspension book I've EVER read. too bad I already know the whole plot while reading, so the climax was lower, but it is still a good book.
5. 佐贺的超级阿麽

A diary and true story about this Japanese man who recalls his past when he lived with his loving ahma, who is poor yet optimistic. Not really a story, so there's no climax or wadeva so it's more like a diary. It really teaches one about how to live life happily, especially even when you're poor. Lots of interesting and funny dialogues which make you think : being rich is worse!
Yep, these are my favourites for books and tv series, I'll blog about movies and actors tmr! yipee!!
