YAY! it's over.
lol. didn't u realise, an anticipation for a medal for to win a match has become a burden instead.
i think all the paddlers of singapore are getting tired and the pressure is TOO much.
it's taking over me too, the nerves are getting on me.
i mean, i spend my whole night dreaming of zhang yi ning and li jia wei ytd night. and hello, it's just a table tennis match, i dont even know them as a friend or what.
why am i thinking so much, i really need to get back to studies and stop dreaming for whoever.
well, at least i care! heee (=
not like some people who anyhow say them or for some, who asked me 谁来的?
anyway! look! tis is the big sweater, Guo Yue, from China, and i think she's the coolest paddler ever! her determination to score each time is all shown on her facial expression. oh ya, her face very chubby hor, like a lot baby fats. heee. oh she really play like a man u know, she's so much better than zhang yi ning la. zhang's face seriously tells you to slap her if you want to but she will slap you back.
anw, the bronze medal match between she and Li jia wei was great mannnnnn! all very strong hits, and i haven't seen li jia wei hit like that for a long time. thou li jia wei lost, it was a feast of all table tennis lovers or olympic lover. heeeeeee!
ok la, i needa go back study study and study ler.
Singapore, jia you! I love you more than I love myself. but, what's the diff?
-THE END-
oh yes, the gold medal match is starting in 25 min time! for those who doesn't care, please get lost. but for those who does or are interested, this post wud be just nice for you.
look! here are some photos from omy.com.sg, when we got into the finals.
anw, here are some stories of these players to share. i hear these from my mom, who got this informations from the papers and the omy.com.
well, li jia wei, 27, was in the china national team, but she tot she didn't get the chance to perform. so singapore spotted her talent, and asked her to come over. so she did. and do you know, her bday is also on the 9th of August? haha.
and wang yue gu, she was also in the national team of china. but she once had to undergo a major operation for her leg, and ever since, she lost the chance to perform. then at japan, the coach of team singapore asked her to come over, and yes, she definitely made the right decision.
oh feng tian wei, tragic story behind. ok let's start off when she's only 15. she was asked to try out to join the national team in china. however, during that time, her father's health was in a serious condition. during her father's last half an hr, she was still practising. so her mom called the coach, and she rushed back immediately. when she returned home, she shouted "爸!". her father opened his eyes, talked to her and 10 min later, he breathed his last. till now, her family condition hasn't been good. her mom, in the past, has to walk 3 hours everyday just to earn S$2. after her father's death, she stopped practising for 20 days. then, she had to go to the trial for the chance to get into the national team. despite the sudden lack of practices, she came in first in the trial. it was a definite shock for everyone. however, good things come to an end. she was then diagnosed with some sort of heart disease and was hence, kicked out of the team. she then came to singapore simply for studies. but singapore asked her to join the team, and yes!
so, this year's achievement of at least a silver olympic medal, she said she's definitely going to use the money to improve her family's life.
oh do you also know, our women team's coach's brother, is also the coach of china's male team?
bye i go watch the finals alr!!
-THE END-
yes, it is a dream come true for team Singapore. the medal after the long wait of 48 years.
other countries are aiming for the Gold medal, whereas colours of the medal didn't matter to Singapore at all, we just want A Medal.
it was table tennis, women's team. the match started from 1430 and ended at 6pm. a 3 and a half hr battle. i've watched from 4pm and it was more than just a table tennis match. i've watched the girls perspire out of fear instead of tiredness. i've watched the girls begin to lose hope each time they missed the ball. i've watched the girls testing out each other's patience. especially in the last match, where every point would be struggled for for at least 1min.
good job feng tian wei, li jia wei, and wang yue gu. u've made your dream, and our dream, come true! i must say the biggest credit should go to feng tian wei, instead of our hot favourite, li jia wei. she won 2 singles match in the semifinals. wad a fight! her strategy was to do it slowly and wait till the opponent's patience run out, so that their strikes would probably miss the table. also, realising that the Korean's skills were of 'rotating' the balls, she intentionally stretch the ball with strong hits so the Koreans would move further away from the table. then she would suddenly give the ball just a gentle touch so it just pass the net by perhaps a few centimetres. the Koreans being so far away from the table, would definitely not be able to come back in time for the ball. so the point would go to feng tw.
during the doubles match, i think our team probably won by luck. i can see the Koreans having a great chemistry between one another. yet our team members, li jia wei and wang, kept bumping into each other. lol. still, it was an effort, and team Singapore won by 3-0.
alright back to me. my feet was freezing and my palms were sweating as i watched the match. i smsed pearl, mich and msn lao sun during the match and we kept saying like "so scared now!" "wow! we won" etc. i wasn't even able to sit down on the sofa and during the last match, i kept walking ard the living room.
the atmosphere there in China was HIGH. during the last match, the other team members got so agitated and excited that Singapore's Wang was given a red card and sent out of the court. after which, it was Korea's Kim Kyung Ah who was sent out. they might be fighting outside ya know. haha!! tears after the match. Singapore's tears of joy. And Korea's Park something cried coz she lost the last match.
the match was more than an entertainment, more than a game. it was a battle to achieve that One and Only dream we all shared.
and so the next game would be the finals, and we're all quite sure that for now, we would not be able to defeat China. but still, a silver medal is good enough.
the date August 15th was a day for many to remember, when Japan surrendered to America. and three others special day that i've heard from the radio.
now, there's one more for Singapore, for we've won our 2nd Olympic medal.
-THE END-
After days of guessing wad my oral topic would be, the answer's finally out and it was "competitions". '
the reading was on 2 grps of people joining a sandcastle competition, then Helen lost and her brother won, and so she decided not to talk to him for a week. ahha very funny~ oh lots of reading errors and stammering like 'very something and impressive' i read "something and very impressive" etc. but for tone and expression i think much better than prelim lor.
then the picture, i wasn't able to spot any conspicuous smiley faces so didn't get to use words like exuberant lah blah blah. hmm didn't get to say conclusion, but luckily i brought in the big idea like team spirit, unity is strength into wad people in the picture was thinking about, just in case. but the content wasn't good enuf for sure, for this, worse off than prelim.
well, i think among all 3 components i did the best for conversation because they asked, "tell me about a competition you've taken part in." YES. take part in so many of them, finally can bring one out and say la! so, on the spot, there was a contradiction between whether to talk about SYF'07 or fire prevention. yep, so fire prevention it was. so i went on how much closer i was with my juniors, the pressure i was under (my first project as a chairperson!) etc. i'd say it's less jerky than in prelim. but omg! i burped. no sound one la, and it pretty much seemed like i was clearing my throat, so yep. content wise i think ok for both questions.
SO, that's the end for oral in secondary. and i'm so gonna miss the anxiety that we all shared together. words like "i very 紧张!" and "relax..." we won't hear such things from u all again. so ya.
-THE END-
today i did something really selfish. seeing that the sky is dark and it's likely that it's gonna be raining durains and rambutans, so i was the first to rush out of the class and left the log book in class and the key with the rest so that i could get to the bus stop just before it rains. ya i made it in the end. i know i shud not do this but today just isn't the day for me to get wet. ok! i promise i won't do that again!

last rehearsal!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SINGAPORE!!
dionne said, last year, "Let us look forward to NC Superstar 2008!"
LOL. well, it is now obvious she is lying. because there isn't any NC Superstar 2008! it became NC talent quest. kinda of sad ya know, because nc superstar winner used to be quite a big topic each year. however, now people barely cared. probably because there are too many items, such that there was no much comparison and its either she wins or i lose. last time still can say wad "S5 very funny","S4 went out of tune!" and "i think G2 will win leh" or perhaps even "this one confirm sure out de lor" blah blah blah. haha. worse of all, i've always looked forward to the finale (the fun-filled finale). still rmb last yr, everyone did the kallang wave together, and dionne and i and eldds were so high laaaaa. we had literally laughed at the slightest things. this yr only eldds maintained that wonderful spirit, but somehow wasn't enough to influence the others. they tried beginning the wave but they all (the waves) died quickly. everyone gave sian faces lah, and FYI, it's national day!
nevertheless, today is singapore's bday and we shud all be very happy. wishing all singaporeans a happy birthday!!
-THE END-
oh yay! derrick's album is finally out. ok la, i don't really like him. but also nv dislike him laaaaaa. well, seeing him on the tv again, made me think of the past. hmm, i could still rmb vividly that irene is crazy about this guy! then everytime i'd tease her. lol. then xiaohan too! but not as crazy as irene. once, when derrick sang a song (it was the final 3 guys), it was so damn touching. it was the last time i was ever so affected after listening to someone sing. credits to him! then xiaohan and i would talk about the superstar performance the next day. oh well, those days~ hah! jue diu superstar has affected so many singaporeans. and rmb when everyone began thinking whether sms voting was a waste of money? wah time flies. and derrick has now become a new face in the showbiz, and even learnt dancing! so, it seemed like everything is changing. so has all of us- seniors have went to jc/poly, and i'm now a senior of others, and no longer that small innocent boy (heeeee!) anymore.
oh National Day's coming. it'd be my first time as an audience. i'm no longer part of the concert preparation. and now, it's no longer called NC superstar, but NC talent quest. last time i even complaint NC superstar was an awful name, but then again, is it really that bad? where had that superstar frenzy, which everyone was so immersed in, gone? can you still remember it?
-THE END-
oh right its been a long time since i last had post that consists only of words and no pics.
ok. let's update you and me with this week and the great adventure faced by the 7 students in the English class.
monday: was dizzy since recess, probably because not enough sleep la. well, coz nowadays i wake up at 0430 if not 5. omg, sometimes i just miss wake-up-at-6 mornings.
tuesday: and so, becoz i was unable to complete much things on mon, and that the dizziness was still there on tues, i decided not to go to school. yipee, stay at home. didn't get to go eldds thou.
wednesday: went back to school, and it's great to see my friends again! i feel revitalised! PE. damn fun. with crystal ball (same team as me) standing with me to block the ball at times. thou i didn't really watch the show- bitch ball babes, but while playing captain balls, i kept wanting to hit the ball instead of catching it. very fun!
thursday: ok, disappointment. ms pey wasn't in school, but we thought we could just go get a ball from Mr Raffi to play. but guess wad, Mr Rahim came and went thru cuban missile crisis. worst of all, mr goh also made use of the period to make me count money. Mr Rahim promised us he'd let us off 30 sec earlier to go recess, but ya, he kept the promise in his pocket and decided not to bring it out to fulfill it. thursday, arghhhh.
friday: OMG! i'm so damn happy, it's been years since i last pon any lesson or wad so eva. the 7 pple in the english enrichment class decided pon the lesson! coz afterall, she's gonna give a test and we'd rather go home and prepare for our mock exam. so naughty 4F peeps went to tell mrs ong that we've to leave like 45min later. so yea, the plan worked! sorry mrs ong, i know its the last lesson with you, but we think that we've given enough time for English, so just for ytd, we decided to let Mr Tee and Mr Tien overtake you. you've been a great teacher and we really appreciate you! and so, we told her we had maths test and went off. at first i ran with pearl becoz we wan to act like we're late for test, and the adventure begins.
THEN, crystal suddenly exclaimed, " Ms Tan just saw us!"
Right after she finished her sentence, she dashed down the spiral staircase together with Vincent. Upon hearing the news, Pearl, Meiling and I had no time to be shocked and zoomed down the stairs too. Ching En and Jolene didn't hear Crystal, thus they thought we were still acting, and so they walked slowly.
"Stop right there, or i'll hand you to Mdm Yeo!" Mdm Tan shouted down the staircase, with her arms akimbo.
When all 7 of us heard Mdm Tan mentioning she who must not be named, we shuddered with fear and paused. At that moment, it seemed like the globe has stopped revolving. The time has stopped. I could hear ourselves panting with fear. To make the situation worse, the 7 of us were in 2 separate groups. Jolene and Ching En had barely reached the third floor, and the other 5 were already on the "2 and a half floor". The five of us knew, if we were to run, Mdm Tan would capture the 2 friends of ours, and hand them to The Yeo. We can't possibly leave our friends behind! No one moved. I looked into Crystal's eyes which were already filled with tears and shining like a crystal ball.
Out of the blue, I saw a bright orange file flew across me and hit Mdm Tan right on her face, and she fell flat on her back. I knew that file! It was Pearl's new ring file she had bought just the day before, because she wanted to have the same file as her idol, Goh Khan Sen. She had sacrificed it for her friends. I was touched by this selfless act of hers. Without further ado, Jolene and Ching En began running down the stairs, and so did the 5 five of us. When we were at the last flight of stairs, I turned behind to realise that Mdm Tan was already catching up.
"Watch out!" I cried.
Ching En looked over her shoulders, and the distraction sent her tumbling down the stairs. Jolene ran towards her and reached her hands out for Ching En. That hand was like an angel's hand, I could even see a halo above Jolene's head. Ching En got up and the 7 of us ran towards the library in trepidation. We wanted to seek Lord Grandmaster Ho for help, but when we arrived at the library, he was nowhere to be seen. For once, I was sure we had come to the dead end. Mdm Tan was reaching and we could only surrender to you-know-who . Just then, Melissa Tan threw a green ring file towards Mdm Tan as she came down from band room. It was the file that Melissa claimed she would become Mrs Goh after buying it.
Tan V.S. Tan.
Mdm Tan lost her balance - thanks to her high-heels - and this time she fell flat on her face. Hurray, we're saved. LOL.
alright, back to reality. ok Mdm Tan did see us ran away, but she didn't ran after us or become a wicked woman. Ching En didn't fall down too. aiya what's only real is that we ran down the stairs lor. FYI, the ring files were only bought after that. LOL. anw, this ponning was damn fun and hilarious, we kept laughing while we ran down the stairs. i thought we looked really stupid laaaaa. oh, sorry Mdm Tan if i've just ruined ur image, but any clever readers would know i wasn't speaking the truth right.
