A Day Out

Wow! Ytd was fun! To start with, we set out to hong xin restaurant for their famous dim sum!

We actually expected quite a lot pple to be there. But there wasn’t a long queue or wad. yipeeee!

Oh I must say, the standard of their food really dropped. Rmb the last time I came, I couldn’t stop dreaming of their food even aft a few days. Now, most of their food are cold & extremely disappointing. My father’s favourite was the phoenix’s claw (chicken feet la). We asked the ‘trolley-pushers’ over and over again, whether they had this dish on their trolley. Almost all said, not ready yet. Since this meal was to celebrate my father’s birthday, we decided to wait. Must have perseverance!

AND…. It finally came. When we asked the person, she simply gave a smile and place it on our table. I think we’ve asked her too many times!!

But eventually, when my sister and I asked them how it was (since we didn’t eat), they said it wasn’t very nice. *faint.

Then we went to vivo city for some shopping experience, since vivo city has gotten the best shopping experience award in the Tourism awards! Nah, no photos!

Then went to Central, at Clarke Quay. Its like traveling down the NEL line ya. haha. Some photos!

Ate at mac. Time really changed, our parents used to buy mac for us. Now it’s the other way round.
In order not to regret for my whole life, we went to collyer quay to catch the performance we’ve missed the other day. Yay! Well, just some introduction & credits: Water fools, or Ilotopie, by France. It actually took them 6 months to prepare the props and stuff for this performance. Crowded. Packed. Oh sorry, this is Singapore. Haha! We came at 7.19 and we had to stand already, becoz if we sit, we’d definitely not be able to see anything since we were standing so far from the river. We stood all the way from 7.19 to 8.45!

Can u see pple climbing up to the top? They just wanted to catch the show, but was too late! Clever enough for them to think of this idea, but they soon got chased down by the authorities.

Well, the show was ok. I think it was worth standing for, but I didn’t really und the show la. Haha. I donno if there’s any story plot, or I simply didn’t get it. In fact, the show was extremely environment-unfriendly, so many fire and fireworks. The sky even turned yellow at the end of the show.

Arts Day

Today, is ARTS DAY!

The Singapore arts festival will stretch all the way from 23rd may to 22june. it began in 1977, and has been playing a symbiotic role in Singapore's artistic life. so...

to celebrate singapore arts festival, my dad, my mom and i travelled all the way down to clarke quay to catch a performance, water fools. its freeeeeeeee. the performers will be performing on water and u can simply stand near the river to watch the show.
b4 u think i'm goin to give my comments about this performance, u are wrong. NOT that i do not want to reveal the performace, but that i actually MISSED the performace. it starts at 8, and i reached at abt 8:45?! LOL. we spent a hell long time looking for the performance, until when i actually saw fireworks from a relfection of a building, then did we realise we were on the other end of the river. went home disappointed. oh, what can i say.

The Kite Runner

hurray. i've finished The Kite Runner, by Khaled Hosseini.
a good read. i realised i've really 'went into the story'. and that when i finished ytd night at abt 0130, i couldn't sleep after that. i kept thinking: what's going to happen next? & how can everything end just like tat. sad that i'm no longer going to read more about Amir, Sohrab etc.
the feeling at the end of the story was like my recent cldds script la. the story was quite a tragedy, yet the ending was good. ok, i shan't reveal too much, since i think many of you are going to read this or mayb watch the movie. all i can say is that, the story is full of sharp turns, surprises and fear. i really mean it. it's not like the other stories you've read anywhere else but the shocks can really make you sit up and re-read the whole page, making sure u didn't read the wrong thing. there was a part, when everything seemed so perfect, the worse thing happened. it happened at the end of the chapter. and it was seriously breathtaking. it's really herhhhhh!~ then breathe out.

it's just like watching a thriller.

EVERYONE should read it.
